Mountain Restaurants

There are a dozen mountain restaurants, most of them very good, your main problem at busy times will be getting a seat in one of them. There is the standard mix of large cafeteria style establishments in the various gondola top stations, and then smaller more traditional chalet style establishments dotted around the mountain. The difference from the run-of-the-mill resorts is that in St Anton, whether self-service cafe or gourmet table-service, the standards are usually well above the norm, so long as you can get a seat. In the former category the restaurant at the top of the swish Galzig gondola is good and if you ski over to St Christoph and can get in, the historic Hospiz Alm has extremely good cuisine and the novelty of a slide down to the loos.
