Very lively for a purpose built ski area, Val Thorens has more than 40 bars and three night spots.

We can’t talk about après in Val Thorens without mentioning the famous Folie Douce. Billed as ‘The dancefloor on top of the world’ Folie Douce is the ultimate spot to party above the resort. Surrounded by mountains; it’s a place where the music is pumping, the crowd is wild and dancing on the tables is customary. There's also a superb on site restaurant La Fruitiere which is undoubtedly the best place for an on mountain lunch.

A similar atmosphere can be found across the resort at Bar 360 which also gets the music blaring from mid-afternoon.

Once you have made your way off the mountain, in the resort itself you’ll find happy hours, karaoke and crowds at the Red Fox under the Chalet Val 2400; located at the top of the village it is an ideal spot to stop in at on your way off the hill and even better if you are staying at the Chalet Val 2400 or the Chalet Altitude as you won’t have far to find your way home!

Rue de Gebroulaz is the centre of après in Val Thorens. On the party street is Café Snesko which has been around for over a decade and its popularity won’t be fading anytime soon. With live music and a host of pyrotechnics kicking off from 5.30pm the atmosphere in here is always electric.

After that excitement, Europe's highest club is the next place to visit, Klub Summit is also on this party street and plays a mix of music to keep you bouncing all the way till 4am. If you want to be just a stumbling distance away then the Hotel 3 Vallees or Residence Le Schuss are both a great choice of accommodation to ensure you are close to all of the après action.

If you want to party hard and stay out late then there are three nightclubs to choose from in Val Thorens; The Baramix, Malaysia and Klub Summit. Baramix and Malaysia are on the other side of the resort from the Rue de Gebroulaz, next to the Place de Caron. Perfectly placed if you are staying at the Residence L’Altineige and just a short walk from Residence Le Valset and Residence Le Silveralp. Malaysia is the biggest club and quite a destination. It regularly has visits from top name DJ’s such as Calvin Harris and Chase and Status.

If all that still isn’t enough to keep you entertained, the tourist board also lays on a full weekly entertainment programme with major sports and cultural festivals throughout the season.
