It’s been a record breaking season all round and a fantastic end to the month of January more heavy snowfall in Europe and Western Canada.
Last week’s front of snow has cleared to reveal some of the best skiing conditions in decades with snow depths of up to 4.5m in the Northern Alps. Temperatures this week dipped below -20 in parts of the Alps and 55cm of fresh snow fell leaving the resorts of Meribel, La Plagne and Tignes with an outstanding snow base which will last well beyond the end of this season.
Switzerland has had another fantastic week of snow too with between 10 and 25cm of snowfall across the country. The picture in Western Canada is also looking good, with some resorts such as Whistler having already received 93% of their annual average snowfall. You check out all the snow depths in France, Switzerland, USA and Canada here>>
