If you are going on holiday to get away from it all and find a place to melt away your stress then Val d’Isère is a perfect choice. The resort has a plentiful supply of accommodation with excellent spa facilities as well as some great public facilities too. We love to relax, so whether you just want some space to chill or you would like a little extra tender loving care, we certainly have somewhere to recommend for you:

Val d’Isère has a great new ‘Centre Aquasportif’. Located close to the centre of town, right under the Olympic cable car, the centre has everything you need for a perfect post-ski relax.

This huge 5000m2 leisure and wellness centre is the home to several pools, aquagym, a steam room, sauna, hot tubs, lazy river, fitness rooms and children's area. Spa World overlooks the family-focused Beach World and offers a haven of wellbeing with infrared sauns, hot tubs, steam room and sunbeds. Great for kids and adults alike, the Centre Aquasportif is conducive to chilling out and taking a load off after a big day on the mountain. If you still have some energy to burn then the centre has loads plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Try out the 200 sq. metre climbing wall, which is great for beginners, or use the indoor sports hall to play some squash, volleyball, football or basketball with friends.

Reflexology and massage are available at Mountain Équilibre (+33 6 87 82 33 36) run by Sarah Sissons. Should you need it (we hope you won’t!) Progression Ski run a Physiotherapy and Massage service with four British Physiotherapists and masseuses who provide treatments and massage in the comfort of your own apartment or hotel (0208 123 3001). There's also Action Sportive Physiotherapy, which is a team of experienced Chartered Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists based in Val d'Isère, Tignes and Ste Foy, run by Ginny Schniewind (This email address is being protected from spambots. If you would like some health and beauty treatments and a place to relax within your accommodation then you won’t have far to look… Much of the accommodation in Val d’Isère has great spa facilities in house, meaning you can get those ski boots off and slip straight into the pool to ease off those legs.

Spas are now de rigueur in all new Alpine residences, and the luxury properties of Chalets Izia and Residence Chalet Skadi don't disappoint. Chalets Izia's fantastic wellness offering includes the Spa Cinq Mondes, with dedicated treatments for children, as well as a swimming pool, small kids' pool, sauna and a gym. Residence Chalet Skadi brings a touch of Scandinavian style to Val d'Isère and also features a Cinq Mondes Spa, with a range of massages, facials, skin exfoliation or reflexology available, all complemented by the indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna.

The Hotel Christiania has a beautiful traditional style spa. Decorated with mosaic tiles and neutral colours it is the ideal spot to switch off and rejuvenate. The pool has panoramic windows so you can still enjoy the mountains as you take a swim. There is also a steam room, sauna and even a gym if you still have some energy left. After that, reward yourself with a massage or one of the many other beauty therapies on offer.

The Deep Nature spa at the Hotel l’Aigle des Neiges is renowned in Val d’Isère and offers a full range of spa services. Of course there is a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and cardio gym, however the highlight here are the Algotherm Marine Spa treatments which are on offer. A full range of treatments from facials to massages are available and not to be missed!

Hotel Avenue Lodge has a delightfully contemporary spa, where facilities include a hammam (that’s a steam room to you and me!) sauna and Jacuzzi. There is also a gorgeous swimming pool. There is not only a full range of Carita beauty treatments and there is also hair salon, so you have everything you need to be looking a feeling great by the time you hit the Val d’Isère après scene.

At the Hotel Kandahar there is a great wellness area complete with sauna and steam room, although it is worth noting that this area is only open between 4pm and 8pm.
