Shopping

With some 200 shops to choose from, Les Deux Alpes is one of the leading spots for shopaholics in the French Alps, catering to over a million skiers and boarders visiting each winter. There are of course numerous ski and board shops, major snow sports brands have their own pro-shops including Billabong, Rip curl, Nike and Quiksilver. There are also dozens of gift shops, plus several newsagents, jewellers, fashion clothing stores and plenty of food shops. Most are open from 9am to 8pm, often without a lunchtime break.

Blue Fly (85 Avenue de la Muzelle; +33 (0)4 76 11 01 67) is a cool jeweller and gift shop that also stocks over 1,000 pairs of sunglasses. Extrait de Nature (61 Avenue de la Muzelle; +33 (0)6 11 39 80 38) is good if you’re looking for carvings and other artistic items, some made in the store’s own workshop. Nirvana (85 Avenue de la Muzelle, Galerie du grand passage; +33 (0)4 76 80 58 34) is another jewellers and fashion store, this one with more than 1,000 rings to try on!
