Les Carroz has quite an active spa scene with several hotels and residential apartments in the village having spas with saunas and steam baths.
The Hotel La Ferme du Laÿs offers beauty treatments and massages provided by a registered kinesitherapist and masseuse and is open to non-residents.
The Chalets de Jouvence (Route des Servages) apartment complex offers its guests a heated indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool bath, a sauna, a steam bath, a cardio-training room and a wellness centre “Mountain Spa & Beauty” where beauticians provide face and body treatments, drainage and relaxation massages and wraps. They even offer a special children’s spa service on Wednesdays for 6 – 16 year olds with delights including Melusine’s Recipes” (a sweet body scrub) and “Bread & Chocolate (a chocolate body wrap).
There’s another new wellness centre, Fini’tifs, in the middle of the village, offering facials, and traditional beauty treatments including the Moroccan black soap scrub or seaweed wraps, and massages are also among the treatments available. The hotel Arbaron also offers body or face care treatments and relaxing massages including traditional Indian hot stones or Thai massages which have evolved over 2,500 years. Reflexology is also available.
The Residence Les Fermes du Soleil (Rue du Val Renand; +33 (0)4 50 90 64 00) offers more spa treatments in their Deep Nature Spa. Their speciality is the “Deep Blue” massage, which is an application of warm oil delivered by seaweed purses, a deep and relaxing massage followed by the application of a cream derived from the ocean depths.
Away from the spa scene, Laurent Prost, a local sports instructor leads Tai Ch’i Ch’ûan and Qi Gong classes at the Proshen Centre.
