Another great option if you’re self-catering in Isola 2000 is Huski, the mountain food and drink delivery service. Spend more time enjoying the slopes, après and great company on your ski trip and let Huski do the hard work for you. Isola has three on-mountain restaurants with a dozen more options on the snow front at the base of the slopes. Located mid-mountain, the La Valette restaurant (+33 (0)6 09 87 11 71) is a wooden chalet at the base of the St Sauveur drag lift. Owners Chantal and Georges Marguet serve up traditional regional cuisine including stuffed hare, smoked salmon and tart tatin with bilberries.
For something different Chez Madame Phok (+33 (0)4 93 23 12 31) at the base of the Génisserie chairlift serves Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. On the snow front Le Cow Club (+33 (0)4 93 23 12 01; cowclub.com) is good for pizza and the accurately named Le Ski In (+33 (0)4 93 23 14 20) offers mountain specialities and a high value daily specials.
Isola 2000 ski resort has a selection of mid-range, family friendly restaurants that offer a fusion of Mediterranean and mountain cuisine, with a good number of creperies and pizzeria thrown in for good measure. In the base building mall The Marmotte (+33 (0)4 93 23 98 65; lamarmotteisola2000.com) is good for mountain specialities including raclette and fondues.
However La Raclette (+33 (0)4 93 23 10 34) does just what it says on the name board, and is one of the resort’s longest established restaurants, opened in 1975. It also has a terrace overlooking the piste and is one of several venues that also serve pizza. Up in the Hamlet Au Vieux Chalet (+33 (0)4 93 23 94 73) serves crêpes as well as pizza and offers a take-out service.
The local Sherpa Supermarket (Les Supérettes Sherpa;+33 (0)4 93 23 12 04; sherpa.net) is open daily until 7.30pm to cater for all holiday food needs. The supermarket offers a delivery service to your apartment.
There are half-a-dozen other food outlets including Alain Saucissons (+33 (0)6 09 34 38 41) which provides a deli service selling regional cheeses, meat products, wine and honey. La Croissanterie (+33 (0)4 93 23 15 90) and La Miche Dorée (+33 (0)4 93 23 96 50) are bakeries, the former offering takeaway pizzas, the latter a patisserie service. La Tarine (+33 (0)6 84 13 52 09) also offers takeout pizza and prepares fondue and raclette to take away too. La Grange aux Confitures (+33(0)6 68 47 08 08) sells jams and other local food products from the Isola area.
