Report: 28th December 2011 - Photo: La Plagne
After a staggering start to the season with record snowfalls, the conditions continue to be excellent throughout the Alps with more snow forecasted to be on it's way this weekend.
Chamonix has the best base of snow with a depth of 310cm at the top whilst the Paradiski area is close behind with an amazing 269cm in Les Arcs and 250cm in La Plagne.
Conditions across the Alps are generally excellent with a base of 205cm in Val D'Isere, 205cm in Avoriaz and 171cm in Courchevel. The southern Alps have also had a great start to the season with a base of 210cm in Alpe D'Huez.
Switzerland has also had a good start to the season with Zermatt offering some amazing conditions right now with 150cm of snowfall so far this season.
As if by magic, the snowfall stopped on the 24th December in the majority of resorts so Christmas skiers enjoyed an idyllic week, but fear not there is more snow around the corner with more snow widely forecasted across the Alps from this weekend.
