Banff has opened its doors for the winter season! Last week we reported back to you about the recent snowfall to hit the Alps, while that was exciting enough the news that the Mt Norquay area of Banff is now open has left us absolutely buzzing for the upcoming season. Last year the resort smashed records for its snowfall levels, and now has set a brand new record as the 25th of October being its earliest ever opening day, and the first resort to open in Canada for the 2012/13 season. The rest of the Banff-Lake Louise area is set to open in the next few weeks, and then winter will truly be under way. The Redbull Supernatural in Baldface, British Columbia We can’t get enough of this competition! This is Travis Rice’s awe inspiring run from top to bottom that won him the event. Travis Rice dreamed up this ingenious concept for a competition that cleverly combines the best elements of snowboarding – big mountain lines, pillows, insane obstacles and freestyle knowledge and experience. Manmade hits were carefully built into the backcountry to make this custom made stage for 18 of the world’s best back-country snowboarders to ride.
